Your favorite cloth diapers for older babies?

rainwriterm asked:

I have a 13 month old and we've never cloth diapered before. What are your favorite cloth diapers for larger babies? He's 23 pounds and about 30 inches tall, and of course, really really active. What types would be best to use, and what types would be best to avoid?

Ugg... there are so many choice. With disposables it's pretty much which brand do you want to pay for, and which one has the stretchiest sides. Ahh!

I have heard a lot of good things about bum genuis 2.0 My daughter is also a bit larger too. Right now I have been using the seventh generation diapers.

I’m not sure about older babies, but I use fuzzi bunz and they’re great! We’ve had no real problems, except leaking when we wait too long to change her…and you can get more absorbent liners for that. THey come in all sizes. Good luck!

  3. I use Tiny Tush Elite. They are adjustable from birth to 35 pounds! I never needed other diapers. And they stand up to everything,…. never leaked never got diaper rash. And you can use them for any future children too as they really last.

  4. I have an almost 1 year old (in a week) and a two year old both in diapers. I use Chinese prefolds w/ prowraps as covers for both of them. I have never had a problem with them. I have heard that Bum Genius are great though. Happy diapering.

  5. I do like the Hybrid Drybees, my 20 month old is about 23 pounds and about 33″ tall and these work pretty well with a liner. The large are a little big for my LO so I think a medium size would be best.

What really works best, though, is a standard cloth diaper plus a soaker and a wrap. The wrap that works best on his skinny legs are the “thirsties” brand. Instead of pins I use those elastic type of grippy things ( real technical) I think they are called snappi’s.

Our 13 month old is 20 lbs 6.5 oz and 28 inches tall. She wears mostly bumGenius 2.0s and 3.0s during the day. We also have some Baby Kangas as well. Both brands are one-size pocket diapers.

At night she wears Bamboozle fitted diapers with a wool cover (either from Sckoon or Sugar Peas).
