Where do I store my cloth diapers?
momofone asked:
New to cloth diapers. Storing them in a diaper pail w/o a lid right now but they stink, esp. the urine. I've heard to put tea tree oil in the bucket. Wondering if using a closed diaper pail would be okay, i've heard that it can cause mold. Any other suggestions would be great to get the stink out!

why do you use cloth diapers. I tried them for about a week. They are too much work. Just get regular diapers.

If they are to the point of producing an odor its time to buy a few new ones. I store mine in a drawer separate from his clothes.

try PetZyme! It works to eliminate pet odors and might work for your cloth diapers too! You’ll definitely need a lid for the diaper pail, or your home will smell like a men’s room…:) Using cloth diapers is environmentally friendly and hopefully easier on your wallet but it does require a good deal of work on your part. Urine breaks down quickly and releases that ODOR very quickly. Hopefully keeping the pail partially filled with PetZyme or a similar product diluted as per the label instructions would make a difference. It’s environmentally friendly too! Good luck!

We used a diaper pail with a lid on it. The lid had a little space where you could put a deodorizing pellet in it. We didn’t always remember to refill that, though. We had a weekly diaper service, so they were in there for a week, at the most. I don’t remember any problems with mold. And, the odor was never more than could be expected around a diaper pail
