What is the connection between teething and diaper rash?
Specifically, why does teething cause diaper rash and what is the best approach to treat both?

Most doc’s will tell you there isn’t a connection but as a mother of four I beg to differ. The best thing I found was to keep baby’s bottom covered in vaseline to keep a barrier between the output and the baby. Lots of cold items for baby to chew on (an unopened popcicle works great) to relieve the pain.

Diaper rash – Bordeaux’s Butt Paste.
Teething – try Gripe Water.

It’s the acid in all the extra saliva/drool they are swallowing while teething. Just keep slathering on the diaper cream.

Teething causes excess saliva which in turn baby may swallow which in turn baby has to get rid of either you urnitating more or having looser bowels which will the in turn cause diaper rash in some babies.
