I would say "buns up!" & soon child will learn the process & co-operate. This method leads to less struggle & cuts down on the legs spread struggle. That way the couldnt kick. I held them lightly. I would try giving him a toy to occupy his hands. It will save you alot of mess. This keeps her occupied long enough for me to get a clean diaper on. (she's been a kicker since early on, too.) A few things that help are: 1. Give him something to play with on the changing table. I always give my son something small like a little bear or even a diaper. He loves playing with a diaper. This way he's distracted and I get the job done! 2. Just deal with it. It sucks but sometimes when I'm in a rush I have to be stern and just sort of "pin" him down (not hurting him obviously.)
