AIR!! Clean your baby’s bottom first, then let them hang out without a diaper for a bit. Rash cremes are all well and good, but never replaces this.

the antibiotics could start the rash.. i found to really help the rash go away i used balmex.. i love it.. its in a blue and white tube… its like destin but i like this better… to keep the rash aways i use baby powder with corn starch! at night, or when you know you aren’t going to be able to change your child right away try using more baby powder! also do not use both at the same time it will just make a goopy mess!

Coming from a dads point of view that has had 2 kids with diaper rash……… I swear by Triple Paste.
If they are crying due to the pain, they wont be in an hour.

My daughter had a nasty diaper rash after taking antibiotics for a while and her doctor said to make a paste of Vaseline, Mylanta, and antibiotic ointment. The Mylanta helps with the acidity of the urine, and Vaseline acts as a barrier, and they antibiotic ointment heals. It really worked for her. It’s cheap and worth a try.. Make sure to wash with mild soap and let as much air get to it as possible. Wipes make is worse. Good luck, Amanda

Yes, antibiotics disrupt the normal bacteria in the digestive tract making it easier for yeast to grow, hence the diaper rash. You may need to call your doctor and ask for nyaststin cream. Also, sunlight kills yeast too!

i have two boys and i use the same thing with both of them. First wash their bottom with warm water and a very mild soap. Allow to air dry for about 10 minutes. Then i put neosporin with pain reliever in it.(buy it at you local cvs, ekerd, ect) Then i put desitin on top of that so that when they go again its there as a barrier and won’t burn or scald their skin.

Yes your baby has a rash from the antibiotics, it should go away in a few days, just add baby powder with each diaper change, if the rash doesn’t clear up in a few days call your baby’s doctor.

Original (clear) A+D is going to heal it in hours. I use a little bit of it every diaper change and my 15 month old had a rash only once.

butt paste, I swear this stuff works after a few hours. The red is reduced dramatically.
