  1. Let air hit the area as much as possible. Also, use Vitamin A & D ointment, it works wonders.

  2. dooneygirl@sbcglobal.net Says:

let her bottom dry off very well so many lay the baby on the bed face down for a while to let her bottom dry off // the problem with most diaper rash is moisture so letting it dry will help and dry to use cloth diapers for a while

  3. well on my baby i used balmex and hypo allerginc diapers.
like white cloud. and it cleared up fast

  4. jessicadavid p Says:

try desitin over night ..let her go naked to let her butt air out and keep it dry Also try a warm bath with oatmeal ..yes sounds weird but it works!

  5. evillama4eva Says:

i was told to try lotrimin AF and it worked great for my son and nephew

  6. mable.syrup Says:

let it get air as much as possible and keep all moisture from pee off of it! Cover her butt with Bag Balm!!!!!

  7. whateverbabe Says:

make sure you wash them everytime, urine or bowl movement, with warm soap and water, then completly dry them off, air drying is better but just make sure they are dry and then use a diaper rash cream, never use vaseline it just holds moisture and so does powder, it seems hopeless but it will go away in a few days, stay with it

  8. JUST JOKING Says:

take off the diaper and let air get to it………air is the best!

Yeah she will pee and stuff but it does help. Dont use any wipes for a few days and just use warm water and dont wipe the area, just pat it.

Make sure she is Completly DRY b4 putting on a new diaper.

There is a cream called Butt Paste that works really good and also a cream called Laniosh (its for chapped skin for breastfeeding moms) but works well on diaper rash’s too

the more she air dries (no diaper) then better

you might was to have it checked too if its not gone in a day…it might be a yeast infection on the skin. its commom in the diaper area.

  9. Ok this might seem a little crazy but it always worked for my Daddy and for me. Burn some flour. Regular baking flour. Put it in a pan and stir it around until it turns brown. Then just use it like you would baby powder. Hope it helps.
    Good Luck.

  10. Yippeeeeeeeeee Says:

    Bordeaux butt paste

seriously, its the best..you can get it at walmart…its the best!

  11. air will help but this the best stuff i ever seen.ithttp://www.happybabyproducts.com/boudbutpas.html
Boudreaux’s Butt Paste Diaper Rash Ointments called butt paste my granddaughter had a bad diaper rash this stuff cleared it right up.

  12. This is going to sound crazy but it was the only thing that got rid of my daughter’s diaper rash and I thought my grandma was insane when she told me to do this. Put some flour in a frying pan and scorch it enough to turn the flour light brown and use it like baby powder on her bottom. I SWEAR IT WORKS!

Poor little baby! Are you sure its diaper rash? I didn’t know diaper rash can bleed. #1, it sounds like you need to contact your doctor– or a different doc if yours didn’t help. In addition to keeping it as dry as possible try cornstarch– that helped with my son, but his case was not really bad. Good luck : )

  14. My daughter had this. An older lady told me to do this and my doctor told me he’d heard of this also……..it was the only thing that worked. I used Malox…..the liquid. I didn’t use the mint kind. Pour out a little and use a cotton ball to put on her bottom. Let it dry. Then put your diaper cream on top of that. Don’t double dip the cotton. It was the only thing that worked! Good luck. Give it a try and let us know if it worked for you.

  15. I used cornstarch and be sure they never stay in a wet diaper for any length of time. That or try Desitin

  16. My son and daughter both had rashes like this. It turned out to be a yeast infection both times. The infection was caused because they were lactose intolerant. When I switched them to a milk based product they had a reaction. The doctor had me put Lotromin Anti-fungal cream on their bottom covered in a layer of neosporin. I know it sounds crazy but it worked and quickly. Good luck. I know it stinks when they are hurting like this. At one point I just put a towel under their bottoms and washed them with warm water. The wipes would really hurt them.

  17. Bludiamond Says:

    try creamy desitin

  18. Ler her stay without pampers , the air will dry the skin.
Lots of Desitin cream, the thick one,
Wash her, do not use wipes. I hope it works fast.

  19. First, you need to make sure that it’s not a yeast rash. If it looks like blisters, chances are it is. If so, you need to apply an antifungal each time you change the diaper. Instead of using wipes, use a soft washcloth with water only. Clean gently, let her air dry for a couple of minutes, and then apply the antifungal (such as Lotrimin) and then a diaper rash cream.

I would also recommend a cream that you can get from the pharmacist called Triple Paste. It worked wonders for my daughter! Ask them at the counter, they will have it for you.

  20. As most people said letting the baby "air out" usually works best. My son had a problem with diaper rash, I used to put corn starch on him when we would go out, dont cake it on though. It really worked well. However, if you have tried most of these things, the baby may have a bacterial rash or a yeast rash (yes babys, even boys get yeast rashes, you can check this with your pediatrician) In these 2 cases the doctor will need to prescribe something, these rashes go undiagnosed a lot of times. My niece had a bacterial infection for months, but the doctor kept saying it would go away. Finally he realized it was bacterial and gave her the right prescription, but not before she got some bad scarring. Be persistent with your child’s doctor. Sometimes, they forget mom knows best. While the baby has a rash try to stay away from juices substitute water in between milk or formula bottles. I hope something helps, I used to cry when my kids would get bad rashes, cause it makes you feel helpless to see them like that. Good luck.

  21. Fallen Angel Says:

My suggestion is that you buy a soft linen type of fabric and make diapers out of it by cutting it into squares of adequate size (if you know how to sew). Wrap the cloth on your baby like a diaper then put on the diaper that you usually buy to prevent leakage. This should give your baby some protection from the nasty rash the diaper provokes and continue using the rash cream. You may have to wash those cloth diapers or simply buy more fabric and make more. I hope your baby gets better!

  22. Let her bottom get as much air as you can. When my sons got that bad I tried ALL of the creams and they might work for a day or 2 then it was right back. Even with the dr. cream it would get better for a few days and come right back. I found that letting it get air really did help the best. You didn’t mention the age, but if she is little just put a towel under her and take the diaper off for awhile. You will have to clean up the mess but it is worth it so she won’t be crying in pain.
One cream that seemed to work the best at first was Butt paste by Boudreaux’s. You can get it at wal-mart for $4-7 a tube. It’s not cheap but it takes the red away. It works best if the area is dry so it will stick to the bottom better. Clean her good and let her air dry for a while then put it on.

  23. 1 tsp. cornstarch
    1tsp. malox
    1tsp vitamin e oil

this makes a paste, corn starch to thinken it, malox cut the acid in the poop and vit.e to help heal

  24. Air and cooking lard apparenlty works wonders, also in some cases teething can cause this to happen, when they are about to pop through.

  25. Try corn starch, but if its bleeding you should bring her back to the doctors for a check up.

  26. born2bmommy Says:

    Silvadene Cream 1% !!!!!!

This is by prescription only. My son and daughter both experienced the exact rash your explaining. Our pediatrician whom also is on the National board of Pediatrics always gives a prescription for this in cases of extreme diaper rash. It is normally prescribed for severe burn victims; but when you think about it….diaper rash is just that. I would also recommend NOT USING scented wipes-unscented only and assuring she is always dry in unscented diapers. If your pediatrician will prescribe this, I saw dramatic results within 12 hours and my sons was gone after 48hrs and my daughters was gone after 72hrs. Also, if you’re breast feeding, my doctor recommended a bland diet for me, just to avoid any possible further irritation that might be contributing to the problem, such as one due to an allergy (although an allergy he said would be EXTREMELY UNCOMMON). Good luck I will pray for you both. God bless……

  27. Sudocream seems to work well and I’ve been told by some mothers that the curash powder is good. if you want to try something natural Paw Paw ointment does the trick you can buy that at Pharmacies.

  28. a diaper rash that is bleeding is severe. keep the area dry and clean, change her often don’t let her sit in wet diapers. air it out often. cornstarch works well to help absorb wetness. you might try changing diaper brands if you use one that is scented(like pampers)to one that is unscented, or even using cloth

  29. riss criss Says:

    Keep updated with the doctor.
Try to keep the diaper off for periods of time during the day. Do not put diaper rash cream where ever it is bleeding.
I use diaper rash cream but I also have used olive oil and vitamin e oil and it’s worked great.
Prevention is key to diaper rashes. always change diapers frequently and let the babies behind air out every day for a little while.

  30. Jennifer C Says:

Ok….definitely let the bottom air out. You can buy Chux pads at a drug store to stop the baby from making a pee mess. You need to change the brand of your diaper. I know it sounds nuts but 2 of mine were allergic to Pampers brand but ok with Huggies or store brands while my other one was allergic to Huggies. Seriously….find a diaper that doesn’t hurt the baby!!Then alternate PLAIN yogurt (YES THE KIND YOU EAT) spread on the bottom and burnt flour. These are old remedies but they work great. You just put some flour in a pan and cook until brown. Seal it off in a baggy and use alternately with the plain yogurt. BTW…these were DOCTOR recommended when nothing else would work.

  31. Redneck-n-happy Says:

I went through the same thing and got an answer from this site that worked. Milk of Magnesium. Put that on her little bottom when you change her. It worked. Sounds crazy, but I know first hand that it works.

  32. shoujomaniac101 Says:

Try a calendula-based diaper rash cream from your local health food store. Also, look into changing your diapers (sometimes the rash is exacerbated by whatever materials are in the diapers). You might just have to switch to cloth diapers and keep your baby clean and dry for a while, or stop using diapers altogether until the rash heals.

It’s entirely possible that the rash is being caused by an allergic reaction–if it recurs, pay close attention to the products you use on your baby, the clothes she wears, the food she eats, etc.

  33. kimberly c Says:

i know my son jus had the same thing looked like poison ivy and burns on his butt…i used no baby wipes at all for a little over a week…everytime he pooped or peed i stuck him under warm water in the bath…then most of the day i kept the diaper off..its a lot of work but its worth it…and then i put him on a antifungual antibacterial diaper rash cream from the doctor…i did extactly what he told me to do…no baby wipes and clean his but with warm water and soap at every single diaper change and apply corn starch…after 4 days it was gone..it went from looking like a 3rd degree burn that was bleeding to absolulty gone in 4 days…it works jus bath at every diaper…destine..cornstarch…and the cream from the doctors and after a few days u will both feel better ") good luck mom
