Cloth diapers aren't as difficult as many people remember. You don't have to have pins and plastic pants like you did 20 years ago. However, many cloth diapering systems require multiple pieces and/or steps. This can be very intimidating for caregivers other than Mom, who changes dozens of diapers each week.

But let's face it - Mom deserves a break too. Whether it's a free moment for a hot bath, a trip to the grocery, or the ultimate pampering of a spa day, someone other than Mom needs to be able to diaper Baby. That's why all-in-one cloth diapers are so very popular with caregivers other than Mom.

Dads Like How AIO Diapers are One-Stop Diapering

Being a father is drastically different than it was in previous generations. Instead of everything being left to Mom, Dad is stepping up and being an active part of Baby's life. Modern dads are involved in feeding, bathing, and yes, even diapering.

Many a cloth diapering mom, however, has a barrel of stories of what a diaper looked like after Dad was done. The diaper cover was on backwards, the diaper cover was forgotten completely, the pocket diaper didn't have any inserts - the list is endless.

That's why all-in-one cloth diapers (aka all in one or AIO cloth diapers) are perfect for Dads. AIOs are one-stop diapering - you pick up the diaper, it's complete in and of itself, and you strap it on baby. Easy as pie. Now all Dad has to worry about is how to get the clothes on afterwards.

Grandparents Like How All In One Cloth Diapers are Simple

Many grandparents are supportive of parents' decisions to cloth diaper their baby. After all, cloth diapers are all they knew. What worked for their kids is obviously more than good enough for their precious grandbaby.

But as I previously mentioned, cloth diapering is very different than it was in their day. I remember the first time I tried to explain to my parents how to put a Fuzzi Bunz on my daughter. The multiple rows of snaps were more than slightly confusing; add in the necessary insert combination, and I knew that my daughter's diaper would be quite interesting after they were done.

With an all in one cloth baby diaper, grandparents don't have that level of confusion. There's nothing to fold, pin, or stuff. All you have to do is show them how to place the diaper under Baby's bum and fasten it shut. Quite simple - dodging your son's fountain imitation will have to be another lesson for another day.

Daycares Like How All-in-One Cloth Diapers are Uniform

Convincing a daycare provider to put cloth diapers on your baby can be challenging, to put it mildly. Many parents report having numerous struggles in finding a daycare willing to even give cloth diapers a go, then even more problems teaching daycare workers how to diaper Baby properly.

Daycare workers change dozens if not hundreds of diapers every day. It becomes a routine for them, and a routine is necessary if they're to keep every baby in their care clean, dry, and happy. Most cloth diapers are a disruption to that routine, and thus met with resistance.

All-in-one cloth diapers, however, are just as easy and routine to put on Baby as a disposable diaper. The uniformity to the well-known disposable diaper is much welcome to daycare workers. Their routine is not altered in the least, they just have a cloth diaper in their hands rather than a disposable.

So as you plan for Mom to have some much-deserved time off, take one worry off the mind of Baby's caregiver. Choose all-in-one cloth diapers, and keep things simple and easy so that the caregiver can instead concentrate on the joys of your blessed child.

Cloth diapers are making a bit of a comeback. More and more parents are choosing cloth diapers for a variety of reasons. Some consider the impact disposable diapers have on the environment and others do not want their baby exposed to all the chemicals that are used in disposable diapers. I love them for both of those reasons. The cloth diapers of today are nothing like what our mothers used. They are easy to use, easy to wash, and are virtually leak free! Here are some things you need to know if your considering cloth diapering.

It will require a bit of an investment in the beginning but you will be saving money in the long run since you won't have the weekly expense of buying disposables. You will need at least 2 dozen diapers, 3 or 4 covers, and a diaper pail to put diapers in until you wash them. To help with the initial cost you can look for used diapers on the Internet or craigslist or you could ask for cloth diapers as shower gifts. Another idea is to buy a little at a time over the course of your pregnancy. If you can't afford diapers go on line and look up Miracle Diapers. They are a non-profit organization that help provide diapers to those who can't afford the initial investment.

Some of the terminology associated with cloth diapers are:

AIO All in One Diapers - These diapers are a cloth diaper that does not need any type of cover. You would use this diaper just like a disposable except of course you would wash and re use it. These are very easy to use but tend to cost a bit more and some people do not like the fact that these diapers usually take longer to dry.

Pocket Diapers - Pocket diapers are diapers that have a pocket on the inside that you place an insert in. The great thing about these diapers is that you can make them more or less absorbent depending on your babies age and gender and time of day. So if you have an older baby boy who wets a lot at night time then you can add extra inserts at night to make them more absorbent so that you won't have any leaks. They also dry faster since you can take the inserts out when you launder them.

Prefold Diapers - Prefold diapers are what people usually think of when they think of cloth diapers. The prefolds that most parents use today though are not the ones you can get at Walmart or Target. If you buy the cloth diapers from there the only thing they will be good for are burp cloths or cleaning cloths. There are Chinese or Indian prefolds and bleached or unbleached. You can buy these on the Internet or at some specialty baby stores. These diapers have to be washed a number of times before they are ready for use. The more you wash them the more absorbent they become. You also need to have a cover over these and also diaper pins or what most moms use nowadays which is a snappi. These diapers are cheaper to buy but you will have to buy them in different sizes. So you will need newborn ones, regular ones, and toddler ones. They are easy to wash and they dry fast.

Covers- Covers are what goes over the diaper to prevent leaks. They are not like the old plastic pants that our moms used. These come in a variety of colors and sizes and usually have snaps or Velcro.

Snappi- is a Y shaped fastener that replace diaper pins to secure the prefold diapers in place.

Here are some of my favorite diapers.

For Newborns:

Swaddlebees covers with unbleached cotton prefolds and a snappi to hold it together. The Swaddlebees covers are very good at containing leaks. I haven't had any blow outs with these covers and just an occasional small leak which is much better than any disposable I have ever used! I love all the different colors that Swaddlebees comes in. We have taken some really cute baby pictures of our baby with her Swaddlbees on. Check them out at http://swaddlebees.com

For 3 months to 2 years:

Mother-ease diapers and covers. I LOVE Mother-ease diapers! They are easy to use, a breeze to wash, dry super fast , and they are so well made you can use them for multiple children. Mother-ease claims you can use their diapers from birth to potty training but I disagree a bit. If you try and use them for a newborn they are way to bulky and once your child reaches 2 they will be too small. So I recommend them from the time your baby is about 3 or 4 months old until age two. You will save money since you won't have to buy different sizes of diapers. You will need to buy covers in sizes small, medium, and large but you only need about 3 or 4 covers in each size. The covers are not bulky at all and yet really hold in wetness. You will be amazed at how well these cloth diapers are at holding everything in. They are much better than any disposable. The covers are not the cutest things on the market but I still would choose their covers over anything else. Check them out at www.motherease.com

2 years to 3 years:

For naps and night time I used Mother-ease XL covers with Indian cotton prefolds.

I hope some of this information on cloth diapering has been helpful to you. I have just scratched the surface but the Internet has a wealth of information on cloth diapering including a bunch of youtube videos showing you how to put the diapers on your child. So take your time, read reviews, do some research, and then just try it. You may find you love cloth diapering as much as I do!

There are two general categories of diaper parents can choose for their babies. Option one is cloth diaper and the other is commonly used disposable diaper. Your decision regarding which one to use will not be an easy one, especially if you concern about the environment, the health of your babies and the convenience of use. If you are a parent with your first baby then you must know that down the road you will have to handle diapers a few times a day for several years after your baby is born. You must also know that your baby will be wearing diapers 24/7 until he/she is finally mastered the toilet training. This will take a baby on average 3 to 4 years to do. What is that mean? Depending on year your choice of diaper is, your baby's most sensitive body part will be pressed against the toxic chemicals and materials for that period of time. For the environment and health reason cloth diaper that is made of organic cotton cloth is definitely the best choice. For convenience the disposable diaper will win the race, no doubt about it. There is however a new choice/product that is just being introduced to the market. This is the flushable diapers. Because these diapers will dissolve in the water after you give them a few stir they can be flushed down the toilet. These diapers contain no chlorine and no fragrance and so they are very environmental friendly and is a healthier choice than ordinary disposable diapers.

It was said that conventional disposable diapers are one of the most remarkable invention human ever came about creating. This makes many parents' life much easier. The absorbing power of the extremely thin disposal diapers is achieved through the use of an amazing assortment of bleached paper fibers, plastics, moisture-absorbing gels, and other chemical materials. Leave aside other materials just listed bleach alone is one of the most toxic substance that one can put against the fragile tender skin of a baby. The moisture absorbing gels used in the disposal diapers are also substance that might cause long-term health problem to the new born. The plastic used in the diapers are not reusable and are not readily decomposable after discarded. The number of daily disposed diapers around can cause serious environmental threats.

For a friendlier choice, the cloth diapers, especially those made of organic cotton, offer no harmful substance to both your babies and the environment. If you do go with cloth diaper, ensure you choose the diaper cover to eliminate the need for pins. Although many diaper covers are made of plastic, they can be used multiple times and are not in direct contact with babies' skin. You might also consider the use of disposable, biodegradable non-chlorine diaper liners to go with the cloth diapers. These can be ordered online, if you need help finding them, let me know and I can show you a few good ones. This will allow you to flush the contents of your baby's dirty diaper down the toilet. After the lining is removed and flushed, store your used diapers in a metal or non-plastic diaper container with a closable lid or cover. Line the container with a washable fabric liner or a biodegradable garbage bag so that no harmful substance is to leak into the diaper and no harm is done to the environment. If you go with cloth diapers, the best option for you and your baby is to launder them at home. This is not an easy commitment, especially for working parents. But if you have all the gear you need at home, your life will not be as bad as you might think. When it comes to time to wash the cloth diapers, keep them separate from the rest of your laundry and only wash the diapers with non-chlorine bleach and a soap-based nontoxic detergent. If washing organic cotton diapers at home is out of this world to you, you can choose the gel-free disposable diapers as an alternative.

Here is a quick summary of the Pros and Cons of the cloth diapers and disposable diapers in case you are busy taking care of your baby and have no time to come back to this document in the future:

Cloth Diapers:

Pros:

- Organic cotton is the only material that touches your baby's skin. No plastic, chlorine or other chemicals will touch your baby's tender skin.

- On average, a single diaper can be reused for up to 100 to 150 times and then recycled.

- Waste goes into the sewer and not a landfill.

- More economical with savings of up to $1,000 per child.

- Facilitates earlier potty training because baby will learn to avoid feeling wet.

Cons:

- Takes work to create a leak-free system

- Requires more energy, water in washing and time of the parents.

- More complicated to assemble products and accessories, such as liners and covers.

- Diaper services often use chlorine bleach and detergents with strong fragranced fabric softeners, this creates environmental issue and irritation to the baby's skin.

Disposable Diapers:

Pros:

- Convenient and easy to use.

- Requires less effort, energy of the parents and also save water.

- Some day-care centers require the supply of disposable diaper when you drop off your kid.

- Some brands are biodegradable.

Cons:

- The disposable diapers go to landfills, where even biodegradable diapers do not degrade.

- Most disposable use plastic in a non-sustainable production manner

- The dioxins, solvents, and heavy metals used in production leak into the environment. Traces are next to your baby's kin.

WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED?

- 2-3 dozens of cloth diapers, more for younger babies, less for older ones. We recommend trying out a few different styles before purchasing a large quantity of one style. From personal experience I prefer contour diapers for a younger baby:

snugglier fit,

no snaps or velcro strips to irritate tender skin,

as your baby grows, very adjustable contour diaper "grows" with him,

less bulky, especially on smaller babies.

Snap-ins and fitteds with lots of snaps for different size adjustments are good too, because they can fit a much wider weight range, meaning you will need less of them.

- diaper covers: 6-8 covers for newborn/infants, 4-6 covers for larger sizes.
- gentle wool wash with lanoline for wool diaper covers.
- 10-20 inserts or doublers, depending on which type of diaper you use.

Some diapers are so absorbent, that you won't need any doublers unless for overnight use or if your munchkin is a very heavy wetter. Doublers and soakers with fleecy top lining are better for overnight use because of that stay-dry feeling. Otherwise many babies would wake up during the night because of the cold and wet feeling to their skin. The quantity depends on individual preferences. I have about 10 soakers, which I use on Max at night for extra protection.

- diaper pail. Any large square or round plastic container with a tight lid will do.

- diaper pail liner. A water- and odor-proof bag for wet and soiled diapers. Make sure it fits well over your diaper pail.

- diapering accessories such as: 2-3 wet bags for travelling, flashable liners & cloth wipes .

HOW MUCH MONEY WOULD I NEED TO INVEST IN CLOTH DIAPERING?

It all depends on the type of diapers you choose. The average investment would be between $400 to $1200-$1400 incl. two extra laundry loads per week. Comparing this to over $2,000 in disposables for a two-year period you will save quite a bit of money, especially if you plan to cloth diaper your subsequent children too!

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO CHANGE MY BABY?

It is not recommended to leave your baby in wet diaper for over two hours due to increased risk of infection, so do check her often. At least every 1.5 to 2 hours. Due to the nature of cloth diapers, many cloth diapered babies are potty trained a lot sooner then the ones in disposable diapers.

HOW DO I WASH MY DIAPERS?

Keep your wet and soiled diapers in the diaper pail and wash them every 3-4 days, depending on how many you have on hand. Cloth diapers should be washed on hot cycle with any detergent that does not contain bleach or fabric softener. Add a couple of drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil to your detergent to boost the antibacterial properties.

DO I NEED TO WASH CLOTH DIAPERS PRIOR TO USE?

Yes, your cloths diapers need to be washed before use in order to reach their maximum absorption capacity. Wash in a full cycle, using hot water, and your non-bleach household detergent. Bleach is very harsh against your baby's skin and may damage the diaper's fibers and elastics, reducing its lifespan. Your cotton diapers and liners will arrive sort of stiff and flat, but will fluff up and soften wonderfully just after one wash!

HOW DO I GET THE STAINS OUT?

If your diapers got stained we recommend to hang wet diapers in the direct sun outside for a few hours to dry. You can also squirt it with a little lemon juice before the sunshine "treatment". The stubborn stain should come right out after this.

CLOTH VS. DISPOSABLES

Apart from the obvious environmental reasons, there are great economical and health reasons to why switching to cloth diapers is better for you and your baby.

It's a money saver. In two years from birth to potty training each baby needs an astonishing 6000 diaper changes. Choosing cloth can save you up to $2000! Even with extra laundry to do. The savings will be even bigger if a family chooses a more affordable cloth diapering option such as contour diapers or prefolds.

Disposable diapers are made with polyethylene and polypropylene plastic with bleached paper pulp, AGM (a gelling substance), petrolatum, sterile alcohol, cellulose tissue, elastic, and perfume. Many of the chemicals used in the production of disposable diapers are direct health hazards. Some scientific studies have linked disposable diapers and their harsh perfumes and toxic substances to the increase of asthma in small children. Now think about that your baby could spend at least two years of his life in those diapers and you will see the picture.

Cloth diapers, on the other hand are what they are - cloth. Organic cloth diapers are even better, because the fabric or yarn they are made of have never been treated with chemicals. We applaud you for considering cloth for your little one! Once you've tried it - you will never want to use disposable diapers again.
Enjoy!

At first I thought it was a rash, but when I went to put something on them I discovered they were blisters! They don't seem to be causing him any kind of discomfort, but I don't want them to get worse. For the time being I put some diaper rash ointment on it and covered it with gauze so the diaper isn't rubbing directly on it. What can be done to prevent this?

The decision whether to use disposable or cloth diapers is one of the biggest ones you'll make when welcoming your baby into the world. And it's not always an easy one. Your choice impacts your baby's health and comfort, as well as your finances and the environment.'

When I first started thinking about this decision, my assumption was that cloth diapers were the way to go, for the health of both my baby and the environment. But I heard that some environmentalists were arguing that cloth wasn't necessarily better, because of the water and energy used and chemicals needed to wash them. This could be as harmful to the environment as the waste created by disposables.

So I decided to do some further research.

First, I started researching disposables. The benefits include the ease of taking them off and throwing them in the garbage (convenience), and the dryness factor. And of course there's no messy washing involved.

But I was quite shocked to learn about some of the harmful chemicals and materials used in making them. For instance, most contain sodium polyacrylate. Not only do many babies have an allergic reaction to this chemical, but it also can be linked to toxic shock syndrome. And cats have died when exposed to it. Basically, it's not something I want to expose my baby to if I don't have to!

Some other startling facts about throw-aways:

* Around 20 billion disposable diapers are thrown into US landfills per year. Most of the materials are non-biodegradable.

* Babies can pull apart disposables and put the materials in their mouth. This can expose them to the chemicals and dyes, and poses the threat of choking.

* Dyes used have been linked to damage of the liver, kidneys and central nervous system.

* Diaper rash was not as common when cloth diapers were the only option. Why isn't this reported on more? Hmm, could it be that diaper rash cream manufacturers are making a huge profit off of diaper rash?

This was enough to convince me that I didn't want to use your everyday disposables.

But I still had some further research to do. I had heard from a co-worker that cloth diapers weren;t as good for "blow-outs," in other words when your baby produces a high-volume offering. She said that cloth diapers weren't as good for holding in the goods, so to speak. And I wanted to know more about the energy and chemicals used to wash cloth diapers.

Also, what about the disposables that claim to be earth-friendly?

And how do the different options compare in cost?

Does anyone make organic cotton diapers?

And are there any OTHER alternatives?

I started looking in to options for cloth diapers. It turns out, this is a whole world of its own. There are MANY different solutions to every problem a new mother might consider when choosing cloth diapers. There are ways of folding the cloth diapers so that you don't have to use pins. Some have Velcro tabs. And to address the blow-out issue, the answer is diaper covers. There are leak-proof diaper covers that you slip on over the cloth diaper and voila! No blow outs. As far as washing, you can either do it at home or have a diaper service come to your doorstep, take away the dirty ones, wash them and return them to you, all for about the same prices as buying disposables.

I now felt even better about cloth diapers, but I still had some choices to make and some questions to answer.

On to the energy / water consumption issue. It turns out that the amount of water used to wash diapers at home for a week is about the same as the amount of water used to flush the toilet four or five times a day for a week. Not much. And even better if you choose a service to do it for you. The amount of water and energy used to wash large quantities is even less than if you do it at home. And of course, you can improve the environmental impact by choosing organic laundry detergent and using energy-efficient washers.

There are some diapers that claim to be biodegradable. These are certainly a better choice than the average disposable. But the fact is, to decompose, they have to be exposed to air and sun, which is unlikely with most landfills. So the chance of them decomposing before your baby becomes an adult is unlikely.organic cloth diapers.

Here are a few more benefits of cloth diapers:

* Babies raised on cloth diapers tend to potty train up to one year earlier than with disposables. Why? The technology used in disposables to keep bottoms dry and "comfortable" makes baby less likely to have any motivation to move out of diapers at all. Having the wet diaper feeling actually serves a purpose, it gives babies a reason to want to graduate.

* A cotton diaper can also be used as a burp shield, a bib, a wash cloth, a changing pad and lots of other things.

* Disposable diapers cost approximately $50 to $80, per month, using a diaper services will cost approximately $50 to $80 per month and laundering your own cloth diapers will cost slightly less at approximately $25 to $60 per month.

I started comparing prices and options for cloth diapers online. I found that there are organic, all-natural and eco-friendly diapers on the market including pre-folded diapers, fleece diapers, organic cotton diapers and a variety of diaper covers in different patterns and made out of different materials. A simple search for "organic diapers" on any search engine will turn up many different options. And for parents new to cloth diapers, some retailers offer starter packages that include diapers, diaper covers, diaper totes and flushable liners. In fact, a Portland, Oregon-based company, gDiapers, even makes a flushable diaper.

The bottom line?

There are some very good alternatives to disposable diapers, and most of the myths about cotton diapers being inconvenient or expensive are simply not true. Cloth diapers prove healthier for the environment and your baby, whether you go with a diaper service or, for the most eco-friendly option, buy organic cloth diapers and wash them at home. I hope I have helped in your decision making process, and that whatever route you decide to go you will feel confident you have done the best thing for your baby and the environment.

Choosing a child care program can be difficult for parents. Many parents feel guilt over leaving their child in the care of others, and worry about the quality of care their child will receive. Added to this dilemma, parents may worry that their chosen child care program will not accept cloth diapers, or will use them reluctantly.

Being faced with a parent who wants to use cloth diapers can be intimidating for child care providers. They may worry that the diapers will be hard to use or will leak constantly. They may not know what to do with soiled cloth diapers, and be reluctant to approach parents with their concerns.

Children's Health is the Main Concern

Parents choose to use cloth diapers for various reasons. Saving money and environmental concerns are popular arguments in the cloth vs disposables debate, but the foremost concern of most cloth diapering parents is their child's health.

Ironically it is the health of children that causes many child care programs to be reluctant to use cloth diapers. Due to the mass marketing campaigns of disposable diaper companies and popular misconceptions, many people feel that cloth diapers are hard to use and unsanitary. However, there is evidence to the contrary. According to a study led by Family and Health Systems Nursing, School of Nursing, Peabody College: "Analysis of the results of comparisons between cloth and paper diapers showed no significant difference in the frequency or the intensity of fecal contamination in child day care centers." Assuming the child care program's diaper-changing procedures are followed, cloth diapering systems can easily be used along with disposable diapers without compromising a sanitary environment.

Diaper Changing Procedure is Most Important

According to the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care, a diaper must be "able to contain urine and stool and minimize fecal contamination of the children, caregivers, environmental surfaces, and objects in the child care setting." Both disposable and cloth diapers meet this standard, although of all the modern cloth diaper systems, the All in One and Pocket styles may be the best choices to fulfill this requirement. In any case, the actual diapering procedure is more vital for the promotion of sanitary conditions than the actual diaper used.

Regulated (licensed or certified) child care programs are required to have diaper changing procedures that fulfill state or county regulations. These regulations are set up to minimize illness, especially those of the small intestine, by promoting healthy and sanitary conditions. Because the vast majority of small intestine illnesses in the child care setting are spread by fecal contamination, proper sanitation procedures are essential to stop the spread of diseases like Hepatitis A, Rotavirus, Giardia, E. Coli, and Shingella. I'm sure we can all agree that we don't want these diseases spread to our children!

Although the regulations covering diaper changes may differ from state to state, a good diaper changing policy will include:

Handwashing of the caregiver both before and after the diaper change

A dedicated space used only for diaper changes with a hard, washable surface and close to a sink that is not used for food preparation

Hygienic disposal of paper diapers or storage of cloth diapers in an inaccessible covered container

Washing and disinfecting the changing surface after every use

Washing the child's hands after the diaper change

In addition, children should always wear clothing over diapers

Some programs also use a disposable barrier like a waterproof pad under the child's bare bottom and require that their staff wear disposable gloves during the diaper changes for added protection against fecal contamination. This is not necessary as long as hands are properly washed and surfaces thoroughly washed and disinfected.

Don't assume that every child care has, or follows, sanitary diaper changing procedures, especially if your child care provider is unregulated. I know of unregulated providers who change diapers on the bed, couch, or floor surrounded by the other children. One that I know of even asks toddlers to throw other children's soiled diapers into the garbage can! Be sure to ask your child care provider what her diaper changing procedures are.

Cloth Diapers and Child Care CAN Get Along Together

Parents who want their child care program to use cloth should familiarize themselves with their state's rules and regulations concerning diapering in child care settings. Contact your local Resource and Referral agency or Department of Health and Family for a copy of your state's child care regulations. Be sure to choose an easy to use system of cloth diapers, and teach your child's provider how to use them. Also remember to show appreciation for the child care provider's willingness to step out of her comfort zone. A simple "Thank you" can go a long way.

Child care providers who are faced with a parent requesting the use of cloth diapers should familiarize themselves with the cloth diaper system presented by the parent. Be sure to ask any questions you have, and share any concerns or difficulties you may experience. Keep an open mind, you may enjoy the bright colors and soft feel of cloth diapers in comparison to the institutional

As stated earlier, the type of diaper used is less important than proper diaper changing procedure. Both cloth and disposable diapers can spread disease to children and child care workers if handled improperly; both cloth and disposable diapers can be convenient and hygienic when handled properly. It's easy to see that cloth diapers and child care do go together!

Diaper rash is the bane of almost any parent's existence. You know exactly what I'm talking about - that rash of nasty, red bumps that make even the sweetest baby irritable. And yes, I'm being polite when I say "irritable"...changing the diaper of a baby with diaper rash can require ear plugs to survive.

But diaper rash doesn't have to be so difficult! In fact, it can be quite easy to clear diaper rash up and keep it away for good. My secret diaper rash cure and preventative? Fitted cloth diapers.

Save Time! Diaper Rash Needs Air

Common diaper rash is an irritation of the tender skin of the bottom and/or genitals. In order to clear up a skin irritation like diaper rash, your skin needs air. With today's disposable diapers, there is no air reaching Baby's bottom. And letting Baby run around without a diaper is quite a messy proposition.

With fitted cloth diapers, you get the best of both worlds. Most fitted cloth diapers are made from natural, breathable fabrics like cotton and hemp. These fibers allow air to circulate around Baby's bum. This heals diaper rash much more quickly than attempting to do so without air.

Save Money! Most Diaper Rash Doesn't Need Expensive Creams

Since common diaper rash is simply a skin irritation, allowing it to heal in the air on its own is more than good enough. By using fitted cloth diapers on your baby while he has diaper rash, you'll eliminate the need to purchase and try several different types of diaper creams. With these creams each costing several dollars, these savings can more than make up for the cost of the fitted diapers themselves.

Now, please note that I said "most" diaper rash. If your baby's diaper rash lasts more than a few days and/or is accompanied by blisters or open sores, please consult with your child's physician. This likely isn't common diaper rash and may need a prescription medicine to cure.

Save Frustration! Keep Diaper Rash from Coming Back

Fitted cloth diapers are a great way to clear up diaper rash, there's no doubt about that. And for many parents, they're just a temporary solution to a temporary problem. They don't have to be temporary, though; switching to fitted diapers full time can help keep diaper rash from coming back.

For many babies, their skin is super sensitive to a variety of things in the environment. This can include the paper and chemicals that make up disposable diapers. Many parents find that, by switching to cloth diapers full time, they're able to not only cure diaper rash but keep it away as well.

If you're dealing with diaper rash, it's time to try fitted cloth diapers. Pick up a few today, and you will be amazed with both how much they help cure your baby's diaper rash and how much you truly enjoy cloth diapering.

As an experienced cloth diapering mom, Amanda White is well-versed in what it takes to make cloth diapers work for almost every family. Whether you’re new to the cloth diaper scene or a seasoned veteran, she has a story for you! She’s put together a FREE collection of her favorite fitted cloth diaper tips for you to use for your family today – [http://www.fittedclothdiaper.net]
